Meet Chai Walli Team Member, Nicole! 👋🏽
Our Chai Walli Team is slowly expanding and we want you to get to know a little bit more about each of them.
Say hi to Nicole, our new team member that got on board with us this month 👋🏽 She's based in sunny Singapore and is a returning Chai Walli staff! She joined us back in 2016 on an internship while completing her Bachelor's. She is now back with us in 2025 - the circle of chai!
Here are a few questions to get to know her:
What's your personal favorite way to enjoy our chai, and what's one thing you're really passionate about outside of work?
I love a good cuppa in the mornings and also when I get to snuggle up with a good book or a new k-drama show. The 11 spice is the way to go! If you think you've tried chai, you haven't tried Chai Walli's haha
I'm really passionate about health and fitness; i make it a point to hit the gym in the morning before I start my day and make sure I'm energised and ready to start ticking off my to-do list. I do indulge myself with a sweet treat or two from time to time, you can never say no to desserts!
Oh, and I fell in love with pilates in 2023 after a friend introduced me to it, and now im hooked! Any fellow pilates princesses reading this? We definitely have something to talk about!
What's a funny or memorable story you have about chai (either making it, drinking it, or a customer interaction)?
When I heard I was getting involved with the Melbourne Tea Festival back in 2016, a friend of mine from uni told me that a close friend of hers was attending the festival as well and that she loves chai and should check out our booth.
She arrived after little while after the event opened and we hit it off! She even bought a few of our products and tried a cuppa chai, and she loved it! She loved how rich it tasted and how the blends all come together in one cup! She thoroughly enjoyed her visit and I'm glad to be a part of it for her.
Up to today we are still keeping in contact and whenever she would come visit Singapore and me vice versa for Melbourne, we will definitely make time to meet. I believe that Chai Walli brings people together and I love to have found a life-long friend in the process!
What's a small, everyday moment working here that brings you joy, and how did you start working for Chai Walli?
I love being surrounded by a community of strong and empowered women! They are such a joy to be around with and I love how everyone is supportive and always willing to lend a helping hand when you're in need.
I initially started in Chai Walli as an intern back in 2016 until 2017 while I was finishing my degree in Deakin, and afterwards, I did a few roles in Communication and Marketing, and now after enhancing my skills and gaining a variety of experiences, I am back to where I started! What a full circle moment, and it's great to be able to reconnect with the team once again and also see how far it has come from when it first started!
What's one thing you're currently learning or trying to get better at in your own life?
To constantly stop overthinking. I'm working on embracing the present and letting what I cannot control to be whatever it is meant to be. Definitely a work in progress!
What's a simple pleasure in your day that always makes you smile?
My morning workouts and walks! It's a good day when i'm able to close off my rings early in the morning while basking in the sun, and have time for the remainder of the day to do more!
