How can I make chai properly?
Jump to recipe!
Have you wanted to learn how to make authentic traditional masala chai but not sure if you're reading or watching credible resources? Well, you're in the right place. My name is Uppma Virdi and I'm the founder and owner of Chai Walli. I was born in India and grew up in Australia. My grandfather was an Ayurvedic doctor who specialised in spices and he would make some of the best masala chai mixes around.
Chai Walli is focused on preserving the heritage of chai and different masala chai blends to help you access the best quality chai products and spice educationo on the market.
So, how can you make chai properly?
Get your blend right!
Firstly, you need a good quality masala chai (spices with tea) blend. You can make this at home, or you can purchase a good one from us. We take chai making really seriously and tasted about 50 different teas from India until we settled on a single origin, organic and fair trade tea leaf from the Assamese region of India. We pair this tea with spices to create a well balanced masala chai blend. We have a few different blends as everyone has a different spice profile. Much like how we all enjoy different pizza toppings or coffee types, we all enjoy different chai blends.
Some of our best sellers include:
- 11 Spice Chai (also available in caffeine free)
- Golden Chai (also available in caffeine free)
- Classic Punjabi Chai
