International Women's Day 2025

International Women's Day 2025

For International Women’s Day this year, Uppma had the opportunity to engage in a captivating fireside chat led by the talented MC and moderator, Mansi K Bhatia, at the Community Migrant Resource Centre in Sydney.

During their discussion, Uppma explored various aspects of entrepreneurship, the specific cultural challenges encountered by migrants, and her experiences as a first-generation migrant woman of color in the business world. She shared a candid and authentic perspective on the delicate balance between personal life and the demands of running a business.

Uppma emphasized the importance of open dialogue, sharing her own experiences to illuminate often-unspoken topics. Her goal was to leave the audience feeling moved, inspired, and motivated to take individual steps towards creating change and embracing their leadership potential.

When asked about how she was able to balance the demands of a growing business and personal life, she said: “My experiences taught me how important it is to have the right people in your team, how to be compassionate to yourself, how to work smart not hard, how to read people, how to delegate as much as possible. That motivation has to come from you.

It was a significant occasion and inspiring to hear the journey of Uppma and how we can all be braver to live a more passionate and purposeful life personally and in business. The event was well-received and fostered a strong connection and shared understanding within the community.

Uppma even received a letter of recommendation from Mansi Bhatia herself which you can read through below:
