Sweet Chai Dukkah Recipe

Sweet Chai Dukkah Recipe

You may know Dukkah as the savoury, spicy nut mix hailing originally from Egypt, but have you heard about Uppma's sweet and chai-spiced nut mix, hailing from Summer Hill, Sydney?

This sweet dukkah is not only delicious, but it is quite healthy too! You can use it in so many ways - on top of your porridge or muesli, with yoghurt & fruit, on top of an apple crumble or ice-cream or even just by the handful on it's own! If you're looking to get a little fancy - try it on top of Uppma's Chai Panna Cotta.

Sweet Chai Dukkah

Ingredients

180g hazelnuts
180g almonds
50g chia seeds
50g flax seeds
2 tbs olive oil
2 tbs maple syrup or honey
1.5 tbs Chai Walli Chai Dust*
1 tsp cinnamon

Method

  1. Heat your oven to 160 degrees celsius.
  2. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, and then spread the mixture out onto a flat baking tray.
  3. Put in the oven for 30 minutes, but at 15 minutes take the tray out and move all the nuts & seeds around with a wooden spoon. This will help to ensure it doesn't burn or clump together too much. Return to your oven for another 15 minutes.
  4. Once golden & delicious, take out of oven and allow to cool.
